nanoCAD’s 2D Drafting and 3D Mechanical Design Module
Mechanica is nanoCAD’s advanced module for 2D drafting and 3D mechanical design. Powered by a sophisticated parametric engine, it works with an extensive library of standard parts, enabling rapid development of high-quality mechanical engineering drawings and project documentation. Mechanica extends the nanoCAD platform with robust 2D and 3D mechanical design capabilities, utilizing its parametric engine and built-in calculators to generate drawings efficiently.
The nanoCAD platform offers a comprehensive set of basic and advanced design tools for creating and editing 2D/3D objects. It provides multiple drawing and editing methods for most geometric elements, serving as the foundation for building a more powerful CAD system tailored to your specifications.
Mechanica supports multi-sheet drawings and constructs objects and symbols using various methods, such as orthogonal drawing and object snap. It manages the drawing order of overlaying objects and draws standard and custom line types, hatches, and fonts with styles. The module also offers multiple dimensioning methods and places technology symbols, auto-selects tolerances and deviations, and performs automated checks of text labels standards. Quick access to standard texts and symbols and a built-in text editor for spell-checking are also included.
Mechanica’s parts database contains a vast collection of parametric and object-dependent elements, including three-dimensional ones. When you change the parameters of a part, all associated parts in the drawing automatically update according to their database values. This powerful tool generates design variations, improving design quality.
Mechanica supports dimension styles, which are named collections of dimension settings that control the appearance of dimensions, such as arrowheads, text placement, and tolerance display. It includes styles preset for various local and international standards.
Mechanica generates detail views as objects that are updated by the MCREGEN command when the source model changes. When at least part of a scaled object falls into the view frame, its scale is applied to the entire detail view.
Mechanica’s MechWizard guides users through advanced functions, including overlaying assembly and parametric dependencies on objects, behavior training of standard parts, modification of database elements, and creation of custom database elements.
Mechanica’s powerful engineering calculators handle gear strengths, complex cross-sections of geometric properties with arbitrary axes, fasteners, bearing life at given load conditions, and more. Calculation results are automatically generated as reports, showing all formulas and ISO references used.
